I have just ordered a Joola Viva from its Hungarian distributor at a bargain price (~25 dollars - 4.900HUF) because read cool reviews about it.

Looking for something at around 86 grams. Do the Avalox have a weight chart for their blades?

Paddlepalace also sells the Avalox BT Series. If you want a softer 7-ply then Avalox P700 is also very nice but you will have to seal it as it does not come factory sealed. Very nice blades indeed.

Donic Ovtcharov senso is also a good 7ply all wood blade.
I owned power 7, Ovcharov senso, and clipper. For me Ovtcharov is the best

I saw it on ebay for like $85 + $25 shipping to the US.
So back in the days of 38mm balls, 21 point games, when men just discovered fire, I got the blade in $20-$30 range.

Two very good ones:
1. Stiga Clipper Wood, the regular version
2. Avalox BT 777, perhaps not as famous as the Clipper but very nice quality. Head size is slightly bigger than compact but you won't notice it unless you use max on both sides. These usually are around 87 gr.-92 gr. Outstanding ST grip. Edited by frogger - 05/08/2012 at 12:19am |

stiga clipper wood, inexpensive and solid blade, i hear many good things about PG7 but i havent tried it though, i honestly dont know what dimension is compact head is but if compact it means as small as tibhar samsonov alpha then clipper is not compact

Joola Viva might fit the bill, I'd suggest getting a flared handle though, the straight was much too small for me.
I personally like the Stiga Clipper, but it doesn't have a compact head and is head heavier than the Viva.

I think my power7 after 25 years is about done. Looked online and the only power7 I found were in another country for 4x what I paid for mine back in the days. Tried a graphite composite blade by Palio and Butterfly and they are not for me. Feel like your hitting with a piece of metal, the feed back is so small. So I think I need a wood blade.
Any recommendations for good 7 ply wood blade with a compact head that people are using these days.
