# Men's Team Final :: SWEDEN V/S CHINA
[1st Match] :: WALDNER Jan Ove - LIU Guoliang

# Short Form @TTVC-site(only!), here ::
--------------
This is a match which belongs to the historic WTTTC 2000's team final, where (SWEDEN won CHINA)*
and is one of the many top moments of Jan-Ove Waldner's performance or "Art of Table Tennis".
I made this highlight video as a motivation for tt-people to focus on the new Reflex Sport's site TTVC
where you could find all this material (historic and contemporary) in Full Original Form and in the highest possible quality.
Reflex Sports gave me the permission to do this as a collaborated user of TTVC.

There are still two corrupted videos there

ETTC 2002 video #3
World Cup 2001 video #1

They have fixed the others but these two still stop before their time runs out (especially the first one which breaks down no more than 5-6 minutes into it). The second one stops at around 33-34 min marker.

Other than that this is a wonderful website and a genuine table tennis treasure!

I'm just wondering why Reflexsports suddenly did this after launching a 'pay-per-view' site about a year ago (http://www.tabletennisactionunlimited.com/). Presumably some people stumped up the money (a not inconsiderable amount) to watch their videos, which are now suddenly free. I wonder if those people got reimbursed?
I guess Gary Ruderman got fed up with everyone using Reflexsports videos without consent and pasting them all over YouTube etc, and just thought 'if you can't beat them...'

They mentioned that demand for their fee-based service was disappointing so they decided to put most of the videos (not all of them) online, since they did not see any real financial opportunities there.

Thanks for that, Jim. I'm not surprised-I thought about joining, but since I own many of the original tapes and DVDs, I thought it was too much money just to see the odd things I didn't already have.

I should think some people who paid for the complete sets of, eg, the 2009 Mens Singles ($94.00) might feel a bit pissed...Ouch

About the people you say should be pissed, it should be towards all the pirates of my footage and everyone that supported and promoted the stolen footage. Our new online video site is essentially a byproduct of this.
Anyway, the DVDs have been half that price for a few years. Lots of people are old school and want to see
TT on DVD.

Well, Gary, I'm old school, and I have bought most of your DVDs -and VCRs, that's how old school I am- over the years. I totally take your side on the piracy issue (see a few posts above). I just baulked at paying the large entry fee for the old video site, when all I really wanted to see was the 1985 film (I have copies of nearly all the other footage).

By the way, I think it's such a shame that you weren't filming at Athens 2000; the Men's Singles there was almost archetypal. It's great that there's some of it on your J-O compilation: presumably there is more of that high-quality footage somewhere.
