Johny Erasure what do you mean?
You mean you ordered old blade with new handle cups? I am a little confused of what you write.

I mean it's made with old veneers and with new manufacturing technology from this days. It's not ordered by me. I can't say more details, sorry.

Dont get me wrong it is a classic great blade but its funny to see a blade thats still in production go for such high prices just cause it has a black tag vs a silver one. It doesnt matter, heck this craze is mostly caused by Zhang Jike and he uses a newer siver tag Viscaria not a black tag ,short lens ,non serial number ,scaly koto blade. Or maybe he does and just changed handles and had the silver tag installed.......haha

It is true that ZJK probably is the only reason that blade is still in production and we owe him a debt of gratitude just for that because it is a truly awesome blade.
As for the black tag craze, some but not all of them play really nice, especially the production runs from around 2007-8. I have a few of those. Great blades. I'm not sure ZJK has anything to do with the black tag craze. I think some of the latest ones are also really nice, as best as I can tell from the ones I have hit with (total of 4, not my own), as good as any that have ever been made. In my mind no doubt that they are better than the silver tagged ones of a year or two ago, which felt kind of hollow to me and were often far too light. ZJK gets whatever kind of Viscaria he wants, I'm sure, at whatever weight, whatever handle dimension, balance, etc. etc.. What people are asking for some of the black tag ones, though, is like the stock market in July of 1929. And depending on vintage, is no guarantee it will play in a particularly special way. |

I am a new member of Viscaria club. Have not tried the black tag viscaria, but I like the new design better. It is simple, concise, and elegent.

How do I become a member of The Official Viscaria Club? Do I have to get one with a black tag, a silver tag, or no tag at all? How about if I just get a fake Viscaria which looks pretty much like the real thing except that the "Viscaria" lens is cloudy and there is only one "t" in the name Butterfly printed on one side of the racket? Would I be a member in good standing even if my Viscaria is totally bogus but still plays okay? And finally, and most importantly, how does a Viscaria, black or silver tag, real or fake, play when you plaster some pre-1952 but in mint condition British Leyland onto it? Thanks to all members of The Official Viscaria Club very much for any suggestions, observations, or comments.

Berndt, you were blackballed from the Viscaria club by a secret vote of its members (who are part of the New World Order and the famous Jade Helm consipiracy). The only way you can become a member is on the following conditions: You must renounce all past comments and refuse to make any future comments on anything related to table tennis, it's players, championships, rules, strategies, serves, techniques, clothing, or equipment that occurred or were in use prior to, let's say, 2006. For example, that would mean you would be able to comment about Liu Guoliang the coach, but not Liu Guoliang the player. Bernie Bukiet, definitely off-limits. Perhaps once per year, on grounds of good behavior, we would allow one and only one comment about, say, Dragutin Surbek, or even Errol Caetano. But not Barna or Bergmann. You must also renounce any past or future comments except those that pertain to spin oriented modern table tennis with inverted rubber on at least one side of the blade.

Boy, you guys are strict. I gotta renounce everything I've said about TT and everything I will say about TT? I'm beginning to wonder whether becoming a member of The Official Viscaria Club is worth it after all. And not mentioning Barna or Bergmann is akin to not mentioning the Virgin Mary when singing Schubert's Ave Maria. Edited by berndt_mann - 09/18/2016 at 12:15pm |
