can't deduce anything.  a clear pic of him w a blade while not playing.  TT has gone the way of Tennis where the pros true rackets are dressed and painted up to look like whatever the companies are currently marketing to the general public.

He maybe hasn't took off the glue that remains after taking off the rubbers.Maybe that's what you see.

The structure of his blade will not help you at all, because you will not get the same blade, if you buy such a blade. Look at the dark shining of the outer ply. It is not "aged to perfection" in my eyes. It seems to be sealed by Michel Ditrigne, a famous guy from Belgique (maybe kakapo kann tell us more about him). Detrigne is (or was) working for several famous players like Vladimir Samsonov and Timo Boll).

Here you can see a few pictures of two Boll Spirit (one of them with Boll ALC-handle), which were sealed by Michel Detrigne for Timo Boll.

For me the Spirit-sealing looks very similar to Ovtcharovs blade. Of course I can't verify, that it was Detrigne, but 1) I am 99% sure, that the blade is sealed with a similar sealing-mixture and 2) Boll and Ovtcharov know each other since a long time. I would not wonder, if there is a sign of M.D. on the other side of the blade.

If I am right with my thoughts, this blade will have a totally different feeling, compared to the same blade without the sealing.

michel detrigne still works for a lot of players boll, ovtcharov, samsonov, hielscher, keinath, and many more...

i heard a rumor years ago saying that dima's blade was butterfly treated by md with donic handle.
