Hi there.
I'm around 1700 with some ups and downs. I'm been a long time Stiga rubber user and after being rather disappointed with the Calibra LT and then the Tour series, I'm looking for something different. I really liked Tenergy 05FX and it really feels nice on my FH but, ultimately, I would rather play with a lighter rubber. I play a lot better with lighter equipment and although I really like Tenergy, I feel that I lose consistency and response time/balance because of the added weight. I play with a light blade too - around 85g. Any suggestions? I'm most used to play with a medium hard 2.0 rubber. I'm an offensive player so I would love a rubber that will perform nice mid distance. Like I said...a can of worms. But maybe only a few kinds of worms? Eitan |

I'm a fan of Tibhar Genius Sound. I'm not an EJ, and can't tell you about throw angles, dwell time, weight, etc. but when I hit the ball it usually goes in. That's all I need to know.

Teomi, based on what you said, try Rakza7 2.0. It's not heavy & will give you what you're looking for

Rakza 7 soft Personally, I would recommend Sigma 2 Euro, not sure if it would be too heavy for you. |

If it's weight and not price that concerns you, it is virtually impossible to beat the Nittaku Narucross series, more so because you are coming from Calibra.

I like putting heavy topspin on the ball...

"I play with a light blade too - around 85g."
What is your blade, as the hardness of it could determine the suitable sponge hardness?

Teomi considers his 85g blade light. Rakza7 soft is lighter than Rakza7. I also find Rakza7soft a bit lighter than Tenergy 80fx. Yes, the Sigma series I found are heavier than Rakza7 rubbers. Another possibility is Tibhar 5Q. A med to hard rubber with great spin & speed. But this comes in 2.1 and 1.9 But again, I'd suggest Rakza7 2.0 |

Thanks for all the replies people. Definitely a lot to check out.
I play with a Darker 5p-2a and I also have a Darker 7p-2a.Carbon. They are both around 85g. |

Then, I know who you are. You have a nice spinny FH, so something like T80FX would work well for you. The tensors like Rakza 7 would also be good, but they are not any lghter. A good alternative is Donic Bluefire M2 as well. |

a bit of a coincident, I was going to recommend those 3 rubbers as well, but wanted to go home to make sure the rubbers I have on my 3 Hinoki surfaced blades before commenting. In general a medium-hard or softer would be a good match. Rakza 7 soft or Q5 might be good as well if you don't need particularly fast rubber.

what about getting a 80g blade which is easy to find and then T05(fx) both sides? Sounds like a perfect solution...

I am open to get a very light blade but I haven't had much luck with those...
I really like the feel and response of Hinoki (Darker) blades but I will listen if someone here has some concrete advice on a light springy blade. I'm also an aggressive player so I typically lean towards off- type blades. |
