I am playing with Tenergy 05 fx on forehand and my backhand is Tenergy 64 , looping with 05 fx is comfortable but sometimes I feel like I am lacking power. my blade is Innerforce ZLC, I hear good things about Tenergy 80 and I was wondering how it compares to Tenergy 05 fx in terms of spin, speed, power, top spin on top spin and so on?
Thanks in advance |

T80 will a lillte faster and harder than T05 fx, appart from this they play similar. I think its a good choice for you if you are seeking more power. But still IF zlc + T05 fx shouldn't lack power at all.

Or 80fx, basically the same sponge but different topsheet (from 05 to 80).

These are all helpful answers but what about comparing spin and speed and also counter attacking ? also how does
05 fx work as a backhand rubber on the innerforce ZLC ? |

You said you're playing with 05-FX on the forehand.
Why not just flip your paddle to use your FH side on your BH?

You can change it as you are told in T80.It will be a great choise if you are searching more speed. The speed will be obviously more than the T05FX.I was used to play with T05 and I changed it with T80 and I have seen the difference. If you need more speed you will be satisfied with the T80!

I used 05 and 80 on the same blade 2 years ago(Butterfly Viscaria). With both of them, I had no problem at all.I was counterlooping like in a game. But if you want to counterloop, it depends on the blade too.

I have played with both T80 and T80FX and honestly I like T05FX much better especially for BH. As I said before I don't know why BTY thought they needed to make to T80's. Some may feel it is perfect and that is fine but I see no need for that rubber. It's like BTY was thinking let's make a Tenergy that one size fits all. The T64's, T25's, T05's cover the spectrum nicely if a player must have a Tenergy.

I have tried that blade with T80 from my club mate maaany times, and yes, I could make counterlooping. If you ask me which blade is better for counterlooping, I would tell you that with viscaria you can counterloop a lot better and easier than innerforce zlc.
P.S. Don't forget that the equipment can do ANYTHING if you don't train. So I believe with your innerforce and your new T80 you will easily counterloop after some practise. Edited by *_strataras_* - 11/08/2014 at 2:05am |

I think T80 hits flatter and longer than T05FX.
T80 Spin, counter looping, etc no probs. Similar feel, deader on touch shots... But I suspect your T80 balls will go long from your current playing distance, till you get used to it... |

Try T05FX. It is softer and should be easier to loop against backspin than 64 or 80. It is slower when you do full power loop.

I would also recommend to flip the paddle and try using T-05 FX on BH. If you don't like how T-64 plays for you on FH you can always try T-80 or T-80 FX there. Both should suit your blade.

T80 is even faster than regular T05, its between T64 and T05 in terms of speed and spin.

It's hard to compare truly different rubbers, even in the Tenergy series. The T05 fx is probably better at control and handling spin, but the T80 is a much faster rubber. Though I am definitely biased here, I would suggest looking into the T64, as its spin is more prevalent than the 80 and its speed is faster than the 05. It's pretty difficult to go wrong with any rubber in the Tenergy series, however. Ultimately, just choose the one that best fits your style, and never hesitate to ask a fellow club member if you can test a specific rubber out. Usually table tennis players are willing to help a guy out! :)
