As far as I can tell, nothing significant.

Anybody else out there with any info about why there are 2 styles of what should be the same ball?

One was made to appeal more to international branding (Xu Shaofa Sports) - the other was the original release. The balls are exactly the same and I have played with both of them extensively in my club and give them out to get the word out about the ball.
IMO, people should largely stop worrying about these seamless balls - as long as you buy them from a reputable dealer (I have bought mine from ttnpp.com and pingpongdepot.com, and I know megaspin will also sell good balls) and they are ITTF approved, you will get a quality, long lasting ball. Of course, you may wait for someone else to answer as well .

I think it will take a while for people to stop worrying. In my club, most have not played with any 40+ ball, and those who have probably hit with the SHA Nittakus and hated them. Almost nobody has heard of the XSF ball, much less understand what is going on with these different versions. I've got some on the way from ttnpp.com and I'll do my best to give everyone a chance to play with them.
Thanks for your thoughts. |

I have both. They are indistinguishable, both made in April (XFAD). Not sure why they have different boxes and label, but it doesn't matter, they are the same.

Is this the same ball as Xushaofa just re-branded as Yinhe's Xushaofa?

Thanks guys. Any experience with the 1 star XSF balls? At $2 per 6 they are about the same price I pay for my celluloid training balls. I could buy a gross for 48 bucks.

Definitely do not buy those if the offer is at TTNPP. Those are just old bad seamless balls being sold at a basement bargain price. There is a decent offer for a gross of training balls at Megaspin that is more realistic, even if more expensive. I haven't tried that, but I would recommend that.

Yes, they are the same high quality ball with a different brand stamp. |

Agree with NL. Even at that price not a good choice. They are the entire reason everybody was so skeptical about seamless balls to begin with. It would be better if they had never seen the light of day. |

Yes, these are the same as XSF, just rebranded and that's a good price. |

Thanks Baal & NL. I guess I'll wait for a better deal. I think most of the tourneys I'll play this year will still use celluloid anyway.

1star xushuoafa balls are not round at all. Half of them were not playable...
3 star xushuoafa balls are just awesome... Round and durable... |
