I will weigh a few on Monday.
Anyway I liked them (as I have all of the approved seamless balls I have tried) and I can recommend them with no hesitation. |

Well Baal, I am happy that the Minnions or Artesians didn't swipe Ur balls from the parcel pipeline, too much scheize tends to happen in the US of A in that respect. (Anyone remember the recently busted Postal worked caught with months of old mail in his car?)

This is great news! I didn't see an announcement on either website. I believe you, just letting you know. The Broward entry form still says Joola Super-P for April, but they don't exactly update their website every day. The only drag is I just ordered 108 cell balls from Cole for practice because I thought Lakeland wouldn't choose a poly ball yet. Do you have any bulk packages of the Nexy balls? And to anyone who has tried all three, which means Baal I guess, does it make any difference if I get XSF, Yinhe or Nexy for training? |

Nexy or XSF are the one's I would go with. Nexy seems a little harder but plays the same way as XSF. I even liked butterfly's poly ball, a tad but lighter but plays well and sounds almost normal.

All three are good (and are too everyone at my club who has tried more than one of them, indistinguishable). Go with whatever is cheaper and if they are the same, I can say that Nexy will be shipped very quickly by a long-time forum member, which is a big plus.

Kudos to Bogyhunter for pushing for adoption of seamless balls -- affordable, durable, good playing plastic balls. Boycott seamed 40+ balls!

Seamless is so much cooler. If we must switch, let's make sure there's an improvement. I will never buy a ball with seams again. To me, they are like buying Sportscraft balls or the balls that simple say, "Made in China."

@Baal - Did you have a chance to weigh the different brands of seamless balls using your accurate scale and/or test for any other physical attributes? I'm very curious whether my perception of slight differences between Nexy and XSF in the way the play is supported by any physical/tangible evidence.

Baal, after just doing a sanctioned tourney using the seamed Poly Ball, I triple wanna see these balls declared not fit for competition and re-classified as training balls. Untrue bounce was outta this world bad. I knew before the tourney the seamless balls would not go well with me, but I really wanted to do one tourney. I got what I asked for.

Sorry Victor, the only thing I can measure is weight. I checked 6. All came within the range of 2.75-2.78, which is where XSF also lands. The only thing I can say from this is that we have ruled out weight as the thing you may be feeling different. Doesn't rule out something else. They still feel the same to me, though, certainly much much much closer together than either one is from any other plastic ball. But maybe there is something subtle that shows up more on your tables or something. Can't rule that out. |

I didn't do much. Just give 3-6 balls to each club to test. They liked it. That's it. I didn't do much. |

Some information for the people interested in NEXY ball.
1. Even in China, it's getting more and more difficult to buy genuine DHS poly ball with seam, which were widely known as Chinese table tennis assocation's chosen ball for local tournments. People are saying that DHS stopped production, due to the boycott from CTTA, who were not satisfied with too often cracking sounds during official matches. 2. As DHS's official distributor for Korean market, I emailed asking what ball I need to buy in the future market, because I knew that they are trying stripe balls, too. They could not answer what ball will be their final choice yet. And I asked if the sayings about CTTA's boycott was true or not, and the person refused to give me an answer. 3. I heard from someone linked to XSF that DHS was contacting XSF, in order to check the possibility of producing seamless ball. By the way, in Korea, more and more tournaments are using Nexy balls. And I wish American people can use NEXY ball, too, to their satisfaction. Edited by Nexy - 03/02/2015 at 7:48pm |

Our club has 5 tables going full time for 4+ hours. Wednesday night we started with 7 Double Fish, 1 Nexy and 1 Nittaku balls. At the end of the night we had one Double Fish, one Nexy and 1 Nittaku balls.

That's strange, as I think the Nittaku balls are made by Double Fish.

I think Nittaku SHA balls are made by DHS. Nittaku Premium 40+ are made for Nittaku in collaboration with a plastic company in Japan.
By the way, I played with some Butterfly 40+ balls two nights ago stamped XBAE (Feb 2015) that had a decent bounce. There were still issues with roundness and I can't say anything about durability. It is possible that some of the Chinese seamed balls may be getting a little bit better so maybe the current horrible situation may get a little better over the coming year. As far as I am concerned, for now the best 40+ balls are still seamless and Nittaku Premium. |

January 2015 POLY BALLS. "The reality showed that the introduction of the new balls have caused certain changes, but not as significant as expected, except for the problem of durability. This fact has been reported to the manufacturers in order for them to improve their processes. Testing of these first “non-celluloid” balls, randomly bought from retail stores in different countries, started in November. Some failures have been found and communicated to the brands’ owners for further action. We are in contact with a German company in order to start with a new test for checking the durability of the balls, in order to improve this important characteristic in the near future. Also, as a consequence of the introduction of the new balls, our member in charge of this equipment, Dr. Küneth, edited a Q&A presentation in order to clarify all the doubts regarding these balls. This presentation is available on the ITTF website." Federico Lineros Chair of ITTF EQC Edited by igorponger - 03/08/2015 at 3:12am |

Sure from a myopic ITTF-centric point of view it is understandable that the change is not significant. They've controlled/limited the balls and brands used in their tournaments. Their tournaments are sponsored by DHS and presumably DHS bears the burden of cost brought by the lower durability. I'd also assume that ball selection before matches and perhaps a more frequent changing of balls are practices being employed by ITTF umpires and match officials to mitigate issues with consistency and durability. To quote an old saying, "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining." |

Don't panic anyone. Nexy Korea didn't strap our huge order last week to the back of a sea turtle to float its way over here over the spring.
We should (if the postal system works without inturuption, like due to blizzard) get the replenishment stock within the next few business days. Demand for the Nexy Poly Ball has been off the chain. The crew working at Nexy HQ in Korea has got to be getting tired arms from packing all these poly balls every week. We are going through a huge case shipment every week.
We are trying to keep enough on hand at all times, but we keep getting more and more players and clubs buy the ball. I might have to consider authorizing renting an airplane for our next shipments. Just joking, it isn't that bad, but we are certainly selling more/faster than anticipated.
