Butterfly has made some changes to Viscaria more than once in last 20 years.  Not huge changes, but noticeable.  Members like Dean and Magic-M can tell you a lot more about that.  The newest ones that I have hit with seem pretty good to me.

How new? 2015 (i.e.: serial starts with P)?

The ones with the new handle with the hologram.  Of course, who knows if what I like is similar to most people.

Again, the opinions here are my own. They are not alleged scientific facts. Don't get riled up.

Perhaps black tags and scaly koto make the feel better.

But by how much? 5%? After all, it still has typical Viscaria feel.

I own a lot of blades.

Here is the best Viscaria I own: a 90g 2015 version (new logo). I selected it after trying out a whole bunch from a dealer.

Feels great for a Viscaria.

However, my Soulspin-manufactured Donic WC'89 Persson has clearly better feedback, better feel and more power for a fraction of the price.

I mean 25-40% better feel. I also prefer Donic Crest OFF to Viscaria (they are similar priced, I think).

IMHO, in TT equipment, once an exaggerated perception sets in (whether it is for National-version-only-H3 or for blue sponge vs orange sponge or for TTNPP 'fake' DHS Long V v/s the mythical real Long V or for the Viscaria), it (the perception) becomes bigger / better than the real thing.

Don't get me wrong: I have absolutely no problem for Viscaria selling for $150.

But, at this moment, there's probably a charlatan putting one up for sale for GBP 600 on ebay and a bunch of mytt members oogling at it...
