I don't.
Why butterfly pays those super stars to use their product is the answer.

Butterfly, in general, does very well with marketing. Much more so than other brands. I would say that their quality is also fairly good as well. Their availability is what drives their quantity on the markets. This is my opinion.

Butterfly is known as brand with best quality control products in the
market. So, their stuffs may be more consistent in quality than other
brands, however, if u can find good sources for Stiga, Donic, or
Yasaka, they re all great brands with great stuffs.

I agree BTY quality is above average. They've made good, very good and klassicheez blades all over the years. Marketing and sponsorship are things to consider but I'm sure if they were doing crap blades, they wouldn't sell a lot. That said they've done some poor blades for my taste such as VSG series. Still I have some TT fellows who like them at play with them. Meaning taste is a very versatile item...

In general, butterfly blades are pretty good and consistence quality, which means they are good at quality control. I am talking about even within a same model. Even though, some of Butterfly and Stiga product lines are in China. Not like Stiga, I remember when I brought my Stiga Offensive CR, I select the one among ~ 20 blades. They are all difference in wood pattern, center of gravity, and weight (~5g difference). In my club, we need to buy blade thru internet and most of my ping pong friends prefer butterfly product because of this reason.

I'm not sure about this, but is Yasaka really a Swedish blade? Yasaka's a Japanese word, na?

Well, it seems they have their blades made in Sweden. It is actually funny that my blade is Yasaka made in Sweden and my rubbers Stiga made in Japan. I guess the old trend that the best blades are made in Sweden and the best rubbers in Japan has been cultivated... |

I agree about the quality control being a plus for Butterfly over other brands. When they say a blade weighs Xgrams plus or minus Y, they mean it.
With Stiga in particular, I have unfortunately gotten some pretty ridiculous variations. For example, I have a 68g AR classic and a 96g Energy Wood, while a friend has a 74g Energy and another has a 93g AR classic. The AR is spec'd at 85g and the Energy at 89g. They even claim that the Energy is a "lightweight" blade; neither 89 nor 96g is lightweight. This is why I am done with Stiga. I also like that Butterfly is fairly sensible with their blade technology. Stuff like uniaxial carbon, arylate/carbon are pretty nice technologies that a lot of people enjoy and can feel at work in the blade. |
