I started playing table tennis 3 years ago. From the start i am using the butterfly flextra yukifly premade bat. i feel i can play all strokes very well now. I am planning of changing my bat to a better one. with the flextra rubber i couldnt generate much speed and spin was quite ok. Regarding my playing styles i try to play lot of topspin on my forehand and backhand. and use BH for pushing also.. i prefer playing from the middistance. I want my new racket to be fast and little light. please suggest me of some really good blade and rubber combination as i am not much aware of these. Thanks in advance..

Depending on your price....there are many many options for a blade and rubber. Please be aware that blades do not include rubber sheets(which you need two...one for forehand and one for backhand..most likely you will want to play inverted rubber as you are used to). So I will list my recommendations for both blade(wood) and rubber sheets.
Low price $40USD-$50 Blade: Yasaka Gatien Extra, Yasaka Offensive 40, Avalox BT555, Butterfly Petr Korbel, Stiga Offensive CR, Stiga Energy WRB Mid Price $60-80 Blade: Butterfly Kong Linghui Euro, Stiga Clipper CR(no-WRB), Yasaka Gatien Carbon, Butterfly Timo Boll Spark Expensive $100USD+: Butterfly Timo Boll Spirit, Butterfly Iolite, Butterfly Schlager Carbon, DHS Hurricane King. Rubber Sheets(I recommend at least 2.1mm thickness sponge on both sides...preferably Max if you can handle it): Backhand: Butterfly Sriver(either EL or FX) in 2.1, Donic JO Gold Forehand: Some kind of tensioned rubber if you don't speed glue... Dawei Inspirit Quattro, Donic F1, Juic Couga, Andro Plasma 430.... On the other hand. You don't have to spend that $100's of dollars to get a good blade combination...you can go to www.colestt.com and get cole to help you pick a good setup from chinese blade and rubber sheets that work just as well as the european or japanese brands for maybe one third of the price. From Cole i would recommend, Dawei Quattro A+ blade $18USD + Combo of rubbers $20 Dawei Inspirit Quattro(on forehand): +$4 extra for combo 2.2mm 40 degree sponge or Max thickness with 35 or 40 degree sponge(the softer the sponge, the easier the control usually) Dawei Inspirit (normal on backhand): 2.2 35 degrees. Total would end up being around $50USD and add shipping to India...not sure how much that would be....but much less than buying japanese, european stuff. |

I agreed w/Professor's take on the low to medium budgeted Combos, i.e. any of these 2 blades:
Bty PKorbel or Avalox BT555 (35.00 USD to 50.00 USD) with:
rubbers from www.colestt.com:
- Dawei Inspirit 2.0 40d sponge (If available?) FH
- Dawei Inspirit 2.0 with softer 35d, 38d or 40d sponges BH OR
- Focus 2.2 BH which supposedly has softer sponge as per Cole's comments.
The above which I'm sort of having except my BH, should be fine, right?
Good luck!

why get a W6 when it's basically the same price as a Yasaka Extra(the blade it was cloned to become) tiehwen, I'd go with Inspirit Quattro on FH and Inspirit or FocusIII on BH |
