Hi,

I would like to understand better the various components of a ping pong racquet.

Q1. In the components that constitute a racquet, what is the % of each component that contribute to the overall performance? For example: could that be 33% blade, 33% sponge, 33% top sheet and 1% glue?

Q2. The red and black rubber. Are the rubber properties identical or are they different per color? And BTW why only black and red? And not other colors like navy / yellow?

Q3. I've read in the rules that 85% of the blade must be wood. What is the reason?

Q4. I assume that the quality of a bat is very important. How important could that be? Example: could an average user with a very good bat play better than a very player with an average bat?

Q5. What is the official term? Racquet, Bat or Paddle?

Thanks in advance for any help.
