Hi,
the elliptical red symbol was the older production serial.

1. Serial without any printing on the blade and with dark handles in Sapelli with round red symbol

2. Serial with Avalox printing on the blade and with bright handles in Finewood with elliptical red symbol

3. Serial with Avalox printing on the blade and with bright handles in Finewood with round red symbol

4. Serial with Avalox/AVX printing on the blade and with bright handles in Finewood with round red symbol

Serial 2,3,4 had sometimes a metal tag at the bottom side of the handle.
The exact production times I don`t know.

The differences between P500 and BT555 are as follows:

1.  P500 is constructed with koto - spruce - ayous - spruce - koto
(basically, they copied old Stiga Offensive Classic)

2.  BT555 is constructed with limba - spruce - ayous - spruce - limba
(basically, they copied newer Stiga Offensive Classic, however, the thickness of BT555 is 5.7-5.8 mm while Offensive Classic is around 5.5-5.6 mm, thus OC is more flexible).

3.  I don't remember exactly the stiffness of these two blades, but if I recall correctly, they are about the same stiffness (quite flexible though compared to rigid carbon blades).

4.  P500 comes in plain condition while BT555 has thin lacquer on the surface.  However, please seal both blades as they are prone to splinter, especially with water based glue.

5.  BT555 has more catapult (trampoline effect) compared to P500.

6.  P500 was used to be >90 grams while BT555 was around 85-90 grams.  But nowadays, you can get 85-90 grams P500 and 80-85 grams BT555.   If I remember correctly, my P500 is around 88-89 grams and my BT555 is around 81-82 grams.

Regarding lens on P500, it is correct that the older one has elliptical lens while the new one has round lens.
