Hello! I'm new to this forum, and I have been playing TT for a years, but started getting into making blades. After experimenting with Western Red Cedar, I found that Port Orford Cedar (which is hard to source) is has a nice combination of power, control, and feeling. I have right now two blades for sale. Both are for sale for $59 + free shipping within the US. They are beautiful 7mm blades, with some fishscaling effect (slightly shiny pattern on the blade face) handcrafted from a single block of Port Orford Cedar hinoki, and the handle is from recreational rackets. They're on the heavy side, and I've trimmed the thickness because of the density of the POC itself. Might look heavy, but feels very well balanced in the hand with two Tenergies which I recommend together with the blade. I would use Tenergy 05 in forehand and Tenergy 80 or 05 in backhand (or similar rubbers). I would recommend sealing the blades before gluing rubbers onto them. Blade #1 - 105 grams, as you can see from the photo. Blade #2 - 109 grams. as you can see from the photo. |
