Player at club is using a Butterfly premade with Yuki rubber.  Wants to upgrade and was looking at Rozena.  Do not know much about it.  What do you guys think?  Probably going to go with 5 or 7 ply all wood blade.

Absolutely! Rozena is an excellent rubber at a pretty good price. It's not too hard, and its quite fast and bouncy.

prolly the best choice for an allround developing game. It's the Sriver of the 21st century, nothing wrong about it, does it all.

if the person wants to buy a blade too there is that BBC Hinoki Ghost that is so forgiving, a dream to play.

I have always thought of the Tibhar Evolution series to be a better upgrade from Rozena overall. Rozena is definitely good but I feel like Tibhar evolution series give a better bang for the buck. Probably something like EL-P might be a decent choice?

Rozena is a high control, decent speed rubber and ok spin,  but it is a low throw rubber, so putting it on a stiffer 7ply wood it is not recommended...if he will use a medium throw 5ply wood i would recommend rozena, but if he is going to use a clipper like blade i would recommend a rubber that has a higher arc

If sticking with Tibhar, FX-P then FX-S are good choices... So is Aurus soft if you can find it... The Euro versions of K series are good too for BH. I guy I am helping did just that coming of Rosena (which wasn't too bad for him) and is doing just great with either Tibhar.

Rozena is a bit slower than Evo EL-P but it's topsheet way more durable compared to Evo. Both share same price, I'd recommend Rozena w/o hesitate...

Stiga DNA Pro-S MAX BH

Avoid any Butterfly stuff... at abusive prices. Raw power without control means nothing

Rozena lasts a long time and it's a fine rubber.  Don't know how it compares to the Tibhar stuff.  Could be a gateway drug to Tenergy or Dignics, so depends how he feels about Butterfly.

I played T80/Rozena for years. Rozena is about 90% speed and spin of T80 at half the price with better control. It does last a long time.

Make photo of the Yuki blade, please.
I have one at my hand 96 grams without rubbers and it is fast as carbon blade! If the blade is the same I won't recommend Rozena, but TSP Ventus Basic 2.0mm.
My blade has big head and huge handle.
It will be much better than the original rubbers posted on Yuki. At least, these old rubbers are lost in time, no spin, no speed and so on.
Ventus Basic is Excellent rubber for a jump from pre-made rubbers to more professional and this model is cheap.
Rozena could be next choice, but 2.1mm thickness after your friend play several months with Ventus Basic to reach some better skills.
