I've been buying DHS glue, but I have heard people are using Elmer's Rubber Cement. Are they crazy or will that work? Any problems using basic rubber cement from Office Max or Staples? Also, forgive me for asking another silly question, but does putting many layers make much difference in the hardness?

Any kind of rubber cement will work, that's what table tennis glue is.

I agree! I have not found one that did NOT work...
Glue will softer the sponge up a little, speed glue much more than normal glue. Most of the effect wears of quickly...

Do you guys think I'll be okay to try basic Elmer's rubber cement? Is the TT Glue actually better in some way?

I have almost used up my 4oz bottle of Elmers rubber cement and it works just fine at $2 a bottle. Regular TT brand name glue costs at least twice that. Any ol' rubber cement does the basic job of adhering the rubber to the blade.

Unless someone can give me a good reason NOT to use Elmer's Rubber Cement I'm gonna go with it. I just figured there was some special formular used or some ITT specs, but I'm feeling pretty good about Elmer right about now. I'm tired of spending $2 each time I put a rubber on a blade.
Thanks!!!! |
