I have a managed to get a hold of an H2 topsheet and I glued it to one of Cole's quattro sponges. I glued the topsheet to the sponge with Cole's method. After gluing I left the rubbers under my physics and chemistry books for overnight. When I tried pulling the topsheet apart from the sponge (did this with scrap rubber) bits of the pips got pulled off. Here's the set up:
Stiga Clipper CR WRB FH: Black H2 Topsheet on 2.0 40deg Quattro BH: Red Palio CJ8000c on 2.2 35 deg Saviga When bouncing the ball on the setup it feels very lively and bouncy. The topsheet is very tacky and good for short game, service, and loop-drives. Service: - Very spinny serves. I am able to make the ball go back to the net with my backspin serves. - Hard to produce fast serves due to topsheet. Short Game: - Very spinny pushes that are hard to return - Flips are fast and spinny - Blocking spinny loops are difficult since the tacky topsheet is heavily effected by the incoming spin. To block I had to hold my blade near parallel to the ground. Loops: This is where this setup shines. Here's why: Looping Backspin is easier. You can grab the ball and carry it up. I can produce spinny loops and fast loops off of backspin. This rubber was designed for loop-driving. When I tried looping the Euro way, my loops were very spinny yet slow. When loop-driving the ball is very fast and low. In conclusion this rubber preforms similarly to regular Hurricane 2 in the short game and service, but is much faster and more lively with the looping game. You can find quattro sponge from Cole and topsheets from presports or ttrubberman. |

Looping with this stuff was amazing. Lots of speed. Low throw. Gotta have a drive style loop though.
