If I were to put a   2 mm. sheet of sponge on a blade,

and a rubber only sheet of a "long pips" rubber,

would this still pass USATT or ITTF rules?

Seems like even 2.5 mm. sponge was allowable the last time I knew.

thanx

the rule only states that the total thickness of the upper layer plus and sponge must be less than 4mm.. so the sponge can be even 2.7mm.. just that the top layer must be very thin.. less than 1.3mm
