too much "up" from blondie
too much noise from blondie
not enough drive through the ball
still, somewhat fun to watch

well, they are young and do not have the adult power for the loop-kill yet. It'll come. But the rally was indeed nice. Not the best one ever, but nice. And the quality of the clip was certainly very good.

I  ~do~ think it is interesting that the closest thing to a straight arm loop is what won the point.

...just sayin

Great footwork by the short player (I thought she was a girl first?) but anyhow near the end where he took a extreme left shot on his forehand was fantastic

They both have some weak sauce backhands.

The far guy sounds like the spartans almost exactly the same!

Besides that I enjoyed the rally

Yes, you are perfectly right, the blonde one can't play at all. That is probably why he's got such a crappy ITTF ranking, I don't think he is higher rated then 10th place in the boys up to 15.

......Gee, I feel somewhat too much lucky
that you'll never see a video of mine,
cause I am an up-"blondie" and quite a noisy one
and this can be discouraging,
though I am not at all a 15years old....

Jim, I beg to differ, especially regarding Hampus Sderlund (aka blondie).
Do you see his physique? Do you see his legs? He is certainly strong enough & capable of producing a loop drive right now. Will he be even more able as he develops? Most probably yes... but he could loop drive now!
While I am less than a nobody (truly even less than that) I say his coaching is "failing" him here in some small regard.

Take Hao Shuai, a fantastic player and athlete who may have even gotten a few more rungs up the ladder had he developed a smash instead of returning  lobs w/ a spin reply.

no problem with lack of power with either of these guys, the camera lens is squashing the action for a start making the ball appear slower that it actually is. It also has the effect of making the balls tragectory appear higher arcing than it really is. As for the b/hands, the no58 this end of the table is a hybrid chopper is he not?

When we critisise technique and talent, we should look at where we are critisising from, if everyone is 'too this' and 'too that' and 'not enough of this' everyone would be the same. How do you compare kreanga's B/hand to Somsonov's, they are different but both are effective, which one of them is wrong and needs correcting? in textbook terms, its kreanga's, but his b/hand is still a far more potent, consistent and powerful weapon than many players who exhibit textbook technique.

Not familiar with the term hybrid chopper, but if I'm not mistaken, the guy closest to the camera is Alexander Franzen and he plays an offensive game, al though he is quite capable of defending as well.
