What rating are you?

I wouldn't speed glue unless you are 1800 USTTA at least, but that's just me.

Me and him have always been very close during matches, and i used to win befor all the turnament began... And know he wins 65% of our matches... The sad thing is, that he wins in tournements and i in training...

Yeah, well I'm sure it does.

But, I feel that you can be so much better by learning the fundamentals before speed gluing and it will benefit you later. If you can't play good without it then you can't play well at all.

Agree.
Speed glue is not for everyone.
I don't believe it helps you, your confident maybe?
I'm 2000 and still learn the right technique, basic strokes that allow me to loop faster with higher consistency.
I believe speed of my (full swing)smash or loop and pro's are not much different but with full swing/stroke I probably make 60% unforced errors and pros make 10%.
Rating : 2000

Dr.N Firewall Plus+Globe 999 Red+Destroyer OX/Saviga V OX.
Speed glue long pips..

4 out of 50,000 isn't that impressive, given that probably only 3% of the 50,000 play, and maybe only 1% play at a competitive level. (No offense, bordtennisfreak, I don't know you, nor am I saying you're bad. Just talking about numbers here)

Even in Canada the numbers aren't impressive. A 1500 USA-rated male player would be ranked at 700th best male in the country. Even sadder is that a 1000 USA-rated female would crack the Top 100 females in Canada. Just pointing out that a very small percentage of the population play competitively.

Doing general calculations, the 10th best in your islands could have a 900 USA rating. Confused

Again, no offense, I'm just ignorantly making generalizations with numbers.

No, not exactly... But we are under denmark... If i should compare our TT class with some other land, i can compare us with Iceland... The youth national Iceland team was here in nov. 2006! There I won the open tournament, and got no.2 in the team match! Smile

We arent 50.000 people playing tabletennis, not even close to... We are maybe 150 people, and here isnt many good players. We are not even close to an international level. The Danish youngsters would beat the hell out of us. So it is not impressive table tennis here.
