Wich blad do you think would be the best blade for a near table looping game?

I think it's Butterfly's Clearfield F L, but let's here what you guys have to say.
Blade: Butterfly Clearfield F L

Rubber FH: Andro Impulse Speed red 2.2mm

Its timing and ultra-clean contact. I imagine an oversized blade face and sweet spot will help.

If you've got good timing, you don't need the oversized head :P

I am betting that your opinion is very heavily influenced by the blade you are playing right now.

I am extremely far from having tried even 10% of all the blades in the world and still I can assure you there are blades even better for that than your Clearfield. You just haven't tried them yet...

Same with my game and my blades - there is always a setup better suitable for whatever you want it to do ... just give yourself some time to get used to it, put the right rubbers on the blade and it will play at least as good as the one you had before.

Near table looping? It must be a compact head size, off or off-, good dwell time, light blade. so viscaria light is perfect... but its handle is a bit small...

I know it's been discussed before, but I'm still wondering which is more important to looping, blade or rubber?

A slow carbon or glass blade OFF or OFF- and H2 :D then you can loop leaning OVER the table let alone standing close. This is my game style and these are the kind of combinations that work best for me ^. The better consistancy from carbon blades is a real winner in situations like this where you have not enough time and way too much hand speed to hit the centre of the blade everytime

I think for loopers, faster blade + softer rubbers is better.

I think for hitters, slower blade + harder rubbers is better.

Primorac off - sucks. Very bad blade, I have been using it for 1 year, beliave me, I know, what I am talking about. This blade dont has any feeling. There many better blades than primorac. I think, primoarc is for a beginners.

I use a hard blade w/ hard rubbers and I loop just fine. So i think its more about technique.

I think a common understanding is that Primorac off- is a beginners blade. Thats pretty much common knowlege. But I definitely wouldn't say theres no feeling. Its just a solid blade all around.

Come on now.  If it sucks that bad, why the heck did you use it for 1 year?  That is a long time to put up with a blade that bad.  I just gotta laugh at your comments.  LOL

if you have good technique, then you can manage with almost any blade combo; however,

if you don't have good technique, a slower blade all+ or off- with an allround/softer rubber would be an ideal close to the table choice.  But then, maybe no blade can help if you have the wrong technique.

Nothing is the best in term  blade and rubber. Only thing is isn't it fit with your playing style or not.

I would have to agree . . . if you are playing close to the table nothing compares to the 5-ply Hinoki for spin, whether it be top, chop, side, or other!

To Flicker:
I dont understand what you are laughing at. Yea It is a pretty long time, but i thought, the problem was in rubbers, because I used thick rubbers. So I was trying another and another rubber but always with the same result - no feeling with ball.

Grizzly - I was just taken by your strong comment on how bad the Primorac blade is but yet you managed to play with it for one year.  Your explanation on trying out the different rubbers made some sense but if the blade was in deed that bad, I wouldn't even hold on to it that long if I were you.  That was my only point.  No big deal and nothing personal, man.  Cheers!!!

So if 5 ply Hinoki is good for near table looping, and I'ma near table looper, maybe I'm on the right track in buying this TSP 9 ply hinoki

5 ply is good for alround and offensive close to table play including: push, block, serve and loop. But 7 ply is too fast for close to table play and it more suitable for offensive from mid distance than close or over table play.
