sorry about the interesting headline, but this actually is a question involving video cameras. I think maybe possibly I could invest in a video camera for now instead of a coach and with all of criticism on this forum possibly improve my game based on constructive humiliation. So what is a cheap video camera with better than average quality for example...does anyone know about the flip mino? or does anyone use it rather?

for $250 get a flash vid cam. if then spend like $40 on a SD card (about 16gb or so) and you can record all the fun you want =)

megapixels only good for taking pictures. you won't be doing that very often with a camcorder...most are around 3-5 megapixels anyways.
video resolution is about 640x480 i believe (which is standard dv quality) if you want high definition cameras expect to shell out at least $350 for a camcorder. there are some cheaper high definition flash camcorders which are around $200 but i am a bit iffy about those b/c i hear that they have bad quality focus and all the webbies don't have zoom. battery life will also be an issue so make sure that you take that into account. lol that was a lot of info but i hope that helps |

As you saw before, the one I use is the Panasonic HDC-SD9, which records in full 1080p. I got a great deal on it about a year ago from Besy Buy for about $370 (major clearance ) which you could probably find for around $400-$450 now, less if you are lucky.
The Flip Mino might not be a good idea since it only has limited internal memory and cannot be added to with a flash card. For not much more, something like the Canon FS11 for < $250 should do just fine. It has exceptional optical zoom range as well. 16GB of internal storage is plenty to get you rolling. With camcorders, really you simply get what you pay for for the most part. |
