Great stuff, watching Waldi play in those older matches always inspires me to play with a more relaxed state of mind.

Waldner looks like he doesn't even try. I don't know if it's just his style that makes it look all non caring, or if he is just really THAT good that he knows he can beat everybody else in his sleep!

he's not careless, his amazing anticipation and overall skill just makes his game incredibly fluent and smooth.

waldner has the greatest anticipation sense that has ever been seen in table tennis, and perhaps may ever be seen.. this leads it to look like he does not move much, seeming like he doesn't care, but pay attention always to his movement after he hits a ball, as its traveling to the opponent.. it is a step or two usually.  other players usually move later, making it seem like they 'care' more, because they r moving faster and quicker, because they r late compared to the king
that's a rip!

This video makes me think back of how great Waldner was with the speedglue. This level of play will never be reached legally again.
The balance between attack and defence and the dominance of topspin over speed that the swedish masters particularly Waldner reached are now relegated to history now that we have gone back to dead bat table tennis.
Thanks for posting it.
Its way more interesting than anything available since the glue ban.
