Maze has really improved his backhand. And he looks good in that stiga shirt.

Just watched this on British Eurosport repeat - Maze played a great match, seems to have changed his tactics and now attacking the Boll backhand more with his FH.

I'm not sure.  There are a lot of good players remaining.  Its pretty early in the competition.  Maze could easily have another meltdown.

@#^$ing Maze beating Boll, now I'll never be able to shut up all the Maze fans on youtube.

Tons of upsets at this tournament, I guess from the familiarity, but what's with Kreanga not facing anyone decent? Everyone else has faced the top players, is this a regional type format or something?

That's weird since they have Kreanga and Gionis.

It depends on where a country finished at the previous championships, not who they have on the roster this year. In 2008 Kreanga didn't play and they were relegated to the second division. This year they managed to move up to first division (for next year, that is). It works the same for world championships.

The ZDF live stream will resume at 1pm (7am Eastern) with Boll-Bobocica, followed by Baum-Monteiro.

This should be the link:

Or with an external media player:

Well, ZDF will mostly (or only) show the German stars - ettutv.com can still be useful to see how other matches are going. It will resume at 4am already with women's doubles and singles.

Anyone has the match between Machado and Ovtcharov?
What a season is this guy having, after his first Pro Tour final, he almost beats Maze (lost 3-2) and now he beats Ovtcharov!
