It is like a surgical knife with replaceable blades.  Just a couple of passes, first through the sponge and then through the rubber and you have a perfect cut.  Just be sure to change the blade after cutting around 5 rubbers.

scissors. But always with water. Without water, it's extremely hard to cut with a nice finish, but with water, it's extremely easy.

is it mean we have to wet the rubber before cut it?
or just you wet the part that want to cut?
i`m always use scissors but not with waterDead

I have cutter and zeropong scissors. I use the scissors, I'm not that good at using the surgical-like cutter.

A fresh blade in an Xacto Knife is best in my book!
Scissors will not give as clean a cut; however, they work better for cutting OX rubbers or pips on thin sponge.

A fresh blade in an Xacto Knife is best in my book!
Put a smooth piece of cardboard like the package the rubber came in or a priority/express mail envelop in between racket and a cutting board. This will help the  knife blade stay sharper longer.
Scissors will not give as clean a cut; however, they work better for cutting OX rubbers or pips on thin sponge.

BTW, I can cut rubbers neater and cleaner than the freakin' factory BABY!!! LOL
I should also mention that I was a NYC hair designer for 10-years and know how to use scissors. So, if I thought they were better I would certainly use them!!

Tommyzai is dead on right. Perfect cut with exacto knife and #11 blade. Fast and simple. Scissors are not as good but ok if you are in a situation where a really fast rubber change is needed. Thumbs Up

If you really want a nice, clean and even cut use disposable single edge razor blades. I can cut 2 euro/jap rubbers with one blade and for one for each chinese rubber. You can buy them at most supermarkets. i bought mine at a local ralphs supermarket for $2.99 per pack of 5 blades Big smile

Just be very, very careful LOL

I always use scissors and have no trouble getting a perfectly smooth cut. it's easier to get such a result with any of the razor blades, BUT, if you accidentally use a dull one you'll get a bad cut every time. This is a non issue with scissors as they hardly ever need sharpening. Also scissors are less dangerous (I don't care about that so much, but some might), and in the long run cheaper.

My first real X-Acto knife (like all X-Acto knives?) is solid metal.
The blades I chose are the X-Acto "Z Series" zirconium nitride coated, #11.
I've cut about three H3s and five 729s with the original blade, so far.
It works perfectly, and the handle makes it more carefree than single-edged blades.

i have to use scissors because i cut 1mm outside the blade to account for shrinking because i move rubbers between my blades a lot. Also serves as protection for the edge of the blade.
