He did pretty well in coming back from 4-10 down in the 1st game to take a 1 point lead on deuce and sitting pretty with serve at 11-10. Then, that missed forehand winner rattled him and he was never the same again. It was just a matter of time after that.

You sure as heck can't out attack or out loop the Chinese, looks like those doing the best against them are choppers, blockers, and lobbers. People who play with spin.

Agreed. And one has to give Mizutani credit to have won the title in a pretty strong field. He was simply the best player in the tournament.

However, if you look at the matches that Hao Shuai and Wang Hao (the lone Chinese players in the mens section) played in the tournament, neither of them appeared convincing in any of their wins. Their games were not even close to the typically flawless display the Chinese are used to giving.

I just finished looking at the Ovtcharov matches and it seems that Mizutani found a way to easily beat Ovtcharov:

Always play to the Ovtcharov forehand

It seems that he made a lot of forehand errors, also looking at the final game with Baum. Baum scored almost all the points on the Ovtcharov forehand.
Ovtcharov is able to perform powerful forehand but it must be the conclusive stroke and the point must prepared with the backhand.

Maybe Mizutani is able to vary the spin and Ovtcharov does not like it or Ovtcharov was not in a good day but the match was really strange to see.

holy cow thanks man! would this work for most off sync video?

I've only tried it on Fixpoints finals video, but from the videos ive seen on ittf.com, the audio-sync timing problem seems pretty consistent across all videos. Give it a shot : ) think it'll work.
