hehe Maze is back! Incredible bh loops from far off the table. No lateral movement tho. And I see he's using high-toss serves again. Interesting. Maze vs WH is like the battle of the gimps. Fun match to watch anyway. LOL

His BH kill off WH opening at 3:21 is amazing.. best shot in the match for me.. Big smile

An exhibition match between Maze and Xu Xin will be great. Two of the best show boat-ers in TT at the moment.. Thumbs Up

Wang Hao vs Maze match is not exciting at all, maybe because Wang did not want to re-injure his waist and Maze has not been in form yet just coming out of injury. Wang's forehand was so weak, and Maze was so impatient with the games.

Yeah, watching the actual match was fairly boring, but it made for a good highlight reel, youtube video with all his crazy attempts against a pretty passive Wang Hao who just let him go for it over and over.

I think it was good to see maze playing again. He is in good shape. His game is very particular.
But he has to improve to be competitive at the highest level. He needs to move faster.

I think it's not his wrist but his back... Maze was also pretty slow.

I agree it is good to see him playing, but he is in no way in good shape. He didn't have good footwork before his injury and it seems the knee injury set him back even more. He looked incredibly stiff compared to a year ago. Honestly, if he played as good as he was last year he would've beaten wang hao because wang hao didn't play well at all.

when i say he is in good shape i am refering to the injury circumstances he had. he is not at peak form at all but it does not seem he is handicaped by injury. It seems he has just to increase training.

anyway even at the form in the past he has to keep improving. not enough yet.

As forecasted, Samsonov beat Joo. He is a black beast to defenders with steady topspin. I remember Samsonov when in Manchester 1997 wttc beats Ding Song who was at that time in peak form.

Unfortunately for him he faces wang hao who has always been a nemesis for him and this time again.

Is Wang hao's service legal?

from the 4th set, WangHao stood to the table's right side when serving,

Timo Boll can't see his service , then crashed.

In my opinion of view ,TB is the champion tonight.

Good match. Congrats to WH. The question of whether WH serve is legal or not is a good one. Throwing ball way to the side and shielding the ball at point of contact? What is certain is that there are a number of players getting away with dubious serves, nothing will get done about it until the opponent complains or umpires start to enforce the rules. Also, I guess the players must think it is ok otherwise they or their coach would complain. It would be funny to see Boll getting angry and kicking up a stink in front of thousands of Chinese in their own backyard!
