The posted match was right after 2003 WTTC when Joo got 2nd. People were saying that if Schlagar has lost to Kong that year, Kong could have won the WTTC.

And if Wang Liqin had beaten Schlager, he could have been the World Champion and he would be the first to have 4 World Clampionship gold medals, but the history is written. Schlager beat WLQ, Kong and Joo and he became the World Champion...

Kong is so good, just amazing. Such a great match, both played such a great match, jaw dropped several times at the sheer skill of some shots.

Although Kong could still destroy many players (ex. 2005 Worlds vs. Fejer-Konnerth), he really did struggle with the 40mm ball. And what a beautiful game he has against choppers. Videos really don't do justice in showing his FH power. I saw him live vs. Matthew Syed once and I almost felt bad for Syed because he didn't know which way the ball was going. Unusual for a chopper not to at least get a racket on the ball.
